The TIFF RIP-Kit is based on Harlequin RIP v.11 and has the ability to output 1-bit or 8-bit TIFF files. This particular RIP can be used to output to a wide variety of output devices. Our standard TIFF RIP-Kit can output TIFF files from 1-8000 dpi, but higher resolution versions are available. Also included is 90 days of free technical support which includes remote support.

Harlequin RIP Features

Harlequin Precision Screening
Every RTI Harlequin RIP includes Harlequin Precision Screening (HPS). When placing color separations on top of one another the RIP precisely calculates screen angles and frequencies to avoid moiré patterns. HPS also uses an adaptive screening technique that adjusts each halftone dot so that it is placed within one half pixel of its ideal location. The RIP allows users to control and manage resolutions (dots per inch or dpi), line screens/frequency (lines per inch or lpi), screen angles, dot shapes, scaling, crop marks, mirror image, negative/positive, rotation and much more. Our screening technology is also designed to work with a wide range of printing processes including Flexography, Offset Lithography, Screen Printing, Gravure, Engraving and Digital Printing.

Native PDF, PostScript & XPS
Support for PDF v.1.0 through v.1.7, PDF/X formats, JPEG2000, ISO 32000-1, optional content, cross-reference streams, compressed object streams and 16-bit images. PostScript® Level 3 support also gives users full compatibility with the latest design and printing applications including XPS documents with PrintTickets.

Color Accuracy with Pantone Plus
The Harlequin RIP will ensure optimum use of the output device's color gamut. Pantone Plus support also ensures that emulation of Pantone colors printed using other inks (e.g. CMYK) are as accurate as possible. It is now even easier to achieve consistent, predictable and repeatable color reproduction across any number of devices through tight integration of the RIP with third party closed loop color controls.

Need the fastest performance possible for your variable data print jobs? Harlequin VariData greatly accelerates the printing of variable data jobs that were saved either as PDF/VT or as regular PDF. It is one of the unique features of the Harlequin print engine that gives it amazing power and productivity.

Hyperthreading & 64-bit Speed
The RTI Harlequin RIP now takes advantage of hyperthreading, multi-core and multiple CPU architectures for faster processing. The 64-bit architecture increases performance by allowing access to more RAM so that even the most complex jobs, rendered at the highest resolutions, can run at full speed.

Stochastic Yellow (requires HDS option)

The TIFF Software RIP includes the ability to output a 1-bit or 8-bit TIFF file. The Harlequin RIP produces TIFF files which are compatible with TIFF 5.0, Classes B (bilevel), G (gray scale), and R (RGB color). Single bit TIFF files with CMYK color separations are also supported as defined in the published TIFF 6.0 specification. Users can also set the compression format for TIFF files being output from the RIP using one of the following compression formats: None, CCITT Huffman, CCITT Group 3 (CCITT G3, CCITT T.4), CCITT Group 4 (CCITT G4, CCITT T.6), LZW or Packbits. Convert XPS or PDF files to separated or composite TIFF files using the RTI Harlequin RIP. TIFF Output can often be used with a variety of platesetters, TIFF catchers or used to send pre-screened files to other RIPs or workflow systems. Our digital front end (DFE) software can be used with a wide variety of output devices. Most of the devices listed below are available with a TIFF catcher that allow them to accept a TIFF file from the Harlequin RIP. If you already have a Harlequin RIP v.4.5 or later driving one of the devices listed below you can also output TIFF files to your existing RIP software giving you compatibility with the latest applications. We offer customized RIP packages for high resolution applications and photoplotters often used within PCB, LCD, LEF and Chemical Milling Industries.
